Selections from the Old Settlers Collection

The Old Settlers of Tempe Association was founded in 1902 as a way for longtime members of the community to connect. To this day, the Old Settlers still hold an annual picnic in Tempe. In 1938, the Old Settlers began assembling historic photographs of Tempe, an effort that continued off and on over many years. These images became some of the earliest exhibits of the Tempe History Museum. This is a selection of some of the best photographs assembled by the Old Settlers, and are some of the oldest and most iconic images of Tempe.
