DescriptionHelmet has the symbol of the 29th Infantry Division of the US Army painted on the front. Symbol looks like the Chinese "yin & yang" but without the alternate color dots in each seperate field. The 29th was known as the "blue and gray" division because its soldiers came from both north and south of the Mason-Dixon line that seperated the states during the American Civil War. This divisional patch symbol was adopted in World War One, when this helmet was in use.
