DescriptionThe Phoenix and Eastern Railroads Locomotive No, 173, Phoenix to Winkleman, at the Tempe Depot around 1910. Tempe Depot at West 3rd Street with Olive Hotel coach in downtown Tempe.

Henry Sandoz is between the back wheel of the Olive Hotel coach and the man in the overalls with a badge (possible Tempe constable or in other law enforcement capacity). Sandoz has his hand on his hip.

Another possible ID in this photo is George Thomas Lindly, Sr., who may be the man in the white shirt (just left of the engine and the engineer/fireman in overalls who has his hand on the cow-catcher). Lindly worked many years for the Southern Pacific. This tentative ID provided by a great-grand-daughter.

A duplicate of this image is 1987.1.2953.
