DescriptionClass portrait outside in front of an adobe building. This is believed to be the first official Tempe school building - a one room adobe built in 1878 on the southeast corner of 8th Street and Mill Avenue on land owned by the Hayden family. The teacher on the far left in the photograph is identified as possibly Isabelle Dumphey in the TD3 history book. written by Rose Deforest. The same teacher has also been identified as Melissa Babbitt elsewhere.
