DescriptionWater canteen, cap with chain attached to neck. 2 piece together.Model 1910 canteen as used by armed forces of the United States (army, navy, marines, etc.). Original manufacture probably dates to 1910s (particularly World War I - 1917-1919), but these canteens were used from that time up through the 1940s.
Although these items are not present, this canteen was originally issued with a cup which fit on the base portion and a heavy canvas cover which protected the canteen and had a brass hook which allowed it to be attached to the soldier's belt.
