DescriptionThis oil painting of Rose Eisendrath is by Louis Betts (1873-1961), famous for landscapes and portraits of the elite. Betts worked as portraitist for the O'Brien Gallery in Chicago in the 1930's. His portraitures are distinct for their depiction of the sitters' hands holding personal attributes. In this painting, Rose Eisendrath is wearing black gloves and holding flowers. She was the widow of a Chicago glove manufacturer.

The frame is about 4 and 1/2 inches all the way around. light wood with gilding on the molding. There is paper over the frame on the back. Wire s fasten to the frame for hanging.
