DescriptionWaltham pocket watch. Silver backing has engraved picture of a train running on tracks in copper. (The copper may be inlay or applied.) Heavy beveled crystal. Face has Roman numerals; second hand in small inset. Winding stem has ring for attaching to watch chain or fob.
ProvenanceThis watch was originally given to the donor’s grandfather, John Hodnut, who was instrumental in bringing the railroad to Tempe. It was given to the museum by Gov. Howard Pyle via M. E. Curry.
