DescriptionPhotograph of the new (nearing completion) Tempe Union High School on NE corner of Broadway & Mill. The school is nearing completion as noted by the absence of sidewalks, and parking lot.

The new Tempe Union High School located at Broadway Road and Mill Avenue opened in 1953, and all students transferred to this new campus from the school's original location (University Drive and Mill Avenue). The architect for the new school campus was Kemper Goodwin.

The original Tempe Union High School building, constructed in 1909, became a storage facility for the school district. A mysterious fire consumed that building on January 13, 1955.
