DescriptionThis is a black and white print of a business van with driver Richard Ramos standing at its door. Written on the side of the van is: "Mobile T.V. Service. Tempe. Mesa. Phoenix. Scottsdale. Dick Ramos. Tom McIntosh." Also displayed are dark circles with "On the Spot" and the phone number, "WO.7-2492".
From Steve Ramos: This is my Dad, Richard (Dick) M. Ramos. The van was his repair shop and he had a small office and phone in the back of an appliance store on Mill, where the Rula Bula Irish Pub is today. The picture is on 4th Street just east of Mill, taken about 1952-53. He lived temporarily in a second floor apartment in the alley, west of Mill off 4th, before moving to a house on Wilson St. After having a T.V. repair business in Scottsdale for several years he worked 20 years for ASU in the Engineering Development Dept. where he worked on some of ASU's first computer systems. He died in 2007 at age 89.
