DescriptionSWING YOUR PARTNERS - From an article printed in the Tempe Daily News, April 16, 1971:

And that's what they were doing at Tempe High school gymnasiums last night as hundreds of Valley square dancers joined in opening dance for Valley of the Sun Square Dance Festival, one of the weekend opening festivities of Tempe's Centennial Days. Joining in a square after leading the 8 p.m. Grand March starting the Friday Dance were Tempe Mayor and Mrs. Dale Shumway and Arizona Secretary of State Wesley Bolin who chose Miss Margaret Sutcliffe, a Phoenician just three years who came to Arizona from England as his partner. Square Dance Festival activities are continuing at Tempe High school all day today and through to the wee small hours of the morning Sunday.
