DescriptionFrom an article published by Tempe Daily News December 6, 1971:BATTLE DRILL - ROTC cadets are shown fanning out amongst the rocks and brush at Phoenix South Mountain Park in search of the enemy forces during an exercise in field problems for the Arizona State University students. Their enemy was actually fellow cadets - the Desert Ranger group from the University, also sent out on problems with their junior classmates. Cadets received instruction in many phases of combat operations from seniors and other military personnel.
