DescriptionPicture shows Japanese students touring ASU grounds.

The Tempe Daily News also published an article, Tuesday, March 19, 1974 referring to the visit of Japanese students to Tempe and ASU. Though the picture with that article doesn't appear here, it's included for reference:

NO SUKIYAKI HERE - at Arizona State University’s Manzanita Hall cafeteria, but (from left) Ruriko Ura, Leiko Hashimoto and Yoko Hiki didn't mind the American fare, since it was all a new experience for them. The girls, students at Japanese universities in Kyoto and Kobe, are part of a group of 30 currently visiting ASU for English language classes and a first hand look at American culture, Arizona style. The students, under direction of John Weir out of ASU's Extension Office, toured the Phoenix area Monday, and will depart for home Thursday via Los Angeles, San Francisco and Honolulu.

The film negative of this photograph is housed in box 2G7-A.
