DescriptionAt the end of their tour of Tempe and ASU, Japanese students are given a 'Graduation Dinner' at El Gaucho Restaurant. At the left of the photo is Helen Kigin, unknown, Dr. Karl Dannenfeldt.The Tempe Daily News also published an article, Wednesday March 22, 1974:
GRADUATION DANCE - A group of 30 Japanese students has departed for home after visiting ASU to study English and get a first hand look at America. A special graduation dinner was held Wednesday at El Gaucho Restaurant and as part of the program, Shinji Takashima, non-student leader of the group performed a dance. The students presented Dr. Karl H. Dannenfeldt, ASU academic vice president, with a clock in the form of a pagoda.
