DescriptionAt the end of their tour of Tempe and ASU, Japanese students are given a 'Graduation Dinner' at El Gaucho Restaurant. At the left of the photo is Helen Kigin, unknown, Dr. Karl Dannenfeldt.

The Tempe Daily News also published an article, Wednesday March 22, 1974:

GRADUATION DANCE - A group of 30 Japanese students has departed for home after visiting ASU to study English and get a first hand look at America. A special graduation dinner was held Wednesday at El Gaucho Restaurant and as part of the program, Shinji Takashima, non-student leader of the group performed a dance. The students presented Dr. Karl H. Dannenfeldt, ASU academic vice president, with a clock in the form of a pagoda.
