Cuquita Romero (standing) gets a word of loving encouragement from a fellow participant in Escalante Senior Citizens Center program. Helen Apger. Many of Tempe's "older Americans" have found new friendships and a place to feel welcome, needed and wanted, through the Escalante Senior Center. Cuquita and Helen were enjoying a crafts class at the center in the photo above. Arts, crafts, outings, games and more are all part of the fare available to seniors at Escalante.
