Off and swimming during one lap of an 18-hour marathon swim, held at McClintock High School pool last week, are members of the Tempe Makos swim team. The young swimmers staged their "Kids Helping Kids" marathon, gathering sponsors' pledges on a per-lap basis, to boost funds for 11-year-old Eddie Perez who suffered severe burns in a fire at his home last month, and his family, as well as to raise money for the team's travel fund. Eddie's brother and sister were there to help the swimmers with the event.
