Motorcycle Accident

A motorcycle peeks out of a ditch in South Tempe after a traffic accident in which two men were hospitalized. (see story.) Police said the two motorcycle riders were thrown 300 feet along the road when their vehicle slammed into a car.
The film negative of this photograph is housed in box 2G7-E.

Additional article information: The accident occurred north on Rural when the motorcycle collided with a Buick sedan driven by William Alford Stites, 71, of 6221 S. Taylor. Stites was making a left turn onto Rural from Divot drive. Officers said the car was damaged severely although Stites was not injured. The motorcycle went riderless about 300 feet north on Rural until it hit a traffic indicator and plunged into a nearby ditch. No one was cited in the accident but police said charges are pending.
