Lydia de la Vara (third from left) receives the First Degree in the Pallas Athene Awards of her sorority, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, from Marilyn Voorhest, ESA past State president (second from the left) at a banquet held recently at the Fiesta Inn. Mr. Ben Picone, President of State Board of Education was the guest speaker for the evening. Jean Lo Piano (fourth from the left) was honored guest. Standing next to Mrs. LoPiano is Lupe Munoz, president-elect of the chapter.
