DescriptionFormer U.S. Senator Paul Fannin of Arizona (second from right) took a special tour of Tempe Union High School District's new Corona del Sol High School on Thursday afternoon. The senator was interested in checking out the school's solar system, funded by the U.S. Energy Research and Development Administration as a nationwide pilot project in solar use in schools. Solar energy was a major interest of Fannin's while he served in the Senate. Accompanied by (from right) TUHS District Superintendent Dr. John Waters and Sam Mardian, contractor for Corona del Sol, Fannin is being shown the "little machine that runs the whole works" at Corona by that school's principal, Jim Love (left).
