DescriptionDawning 66 three-inch jalapenos in five minutes is some feat - as anyone who has ever spent five minutes trying to quench the fires after eating a first one could tell you! But Tempean "Dugie" Verdugo, an employee with the City of Tempe refuse department, tackled that fiery feat with ease, to become Arizona's state jalapeno eating champion, duly crowned at the Oxbow in Tempe last night by Mindy Jones, Oxbow manager, as an admiring - or possibly that's disbelieving - group looked on.The film negative of this photograph is housed in box 2G8-B.
