DescriptionFrom a photo caption appearing on Page A7 in the 'People' section of the Tempe Daily News, Tuesday, April 30, 1985:

Inventor put dash (and ...) in life - Jean Goodwin of Tempe, right, shares memories of 50 years as a Morse code telegraph operator with fellow Morse Telegraph Club members Howell Babbitt, left, of Tempe and Harmon Averyt of Yuma. The Morse telegraph "but," sender and receivers on table were used by club members gathered in Tempe Saturday to once more tap out dot-dash messages to send across the country.
