DescriptionTaken from Tempe Daily News - January 1, 1986:Tempe Police Department Employees had the desert waiting when Police Chief Art Fairbanks returned from a recent city luncheon honoring his 40th anniversary in law enforcement work. Fairbanks had received a pair of plaques and an "Art Fairbanks Day" proclamation from Mayor Harry Mitchell at the luncheon. But TPD staff members wanted to do something too, so they surprised their Boss with a cake congratulating him on his 40 years in law enforcement.
