DescriptionPDP-8L Minicomputer Claimed by the donor to be the first "home computer" used in Tempe.

This is a Digital Equipment Corporation(DEC) PDP-8L 12-bit word minicomputer. It consists of the following items:
1. A 10" high rack mount box with front panel switches - the computer itself,
2. A brown metal rack mount cabinet 3 feet high on castors,
3. A styrofoam tray containing multiple electronic boards, List in Excell file "DEC PDP-8L Minicomputer
Boards.xlsx" in same directory as this document,
4. Set of Stapled blueprints of the computer,
5. Briefcase containing paper tapes of programs,
6. A cigar box of paper tapes,
7. An ASR-33 Teletype with two document holders, manuals, and spare parts.
8, A cigar box of ribbons for the Teletype unit.
9. A high speed paper tape reader,
10. A high speed paper tape punch.
11. A paper tape rewinder.

Items 9, 10, and 11 are loose in the bottom of item 2.

The Teletype provides the keyboard and display functions for controlling the computer. It also has the capability to read and punch paper tape at slow speeds. Paper tape is used to store programs for the computer.

Note: Loss of the blueprints would mean there is no way to maintain the computer without
finding a new set of blueprints.
