DescriptionFrom a photo caption, "Penning the past" appearing on Page A11, 'Applause', Tempe Daily News, Saturday, June 7, 1986:

Penning the past - Tempe artist Richard Nearing, owner of Heritage Gallery of Art, poses with one of a series of pen and ink drawings of historic Tempe buildings he is in the process of producing. Sunday, though, Nearing will be showing, selling and autographing some of his drawings, not of, but in a historic building. He'll be featured guest for a special 1 to 3 p.m. shopping-for-Father's-Day open house at Tempe's restored Hackett House, 95 W. Fourth St., now being operated as a visitor’s center, gift shop and international showcase by Tempe Sister City.
