DescriptionLast purchase, from Tempe Daily News, June 25, 1986 - George Morrell, second from left, made his last purchase for Arizona State University this month. Joining others in a farewell salute to the retiring ASU director of purchasing at a luncheon on the ASU campus last week were, from left, Frank Sacton, professor of public affairs, (Morrell), ASU vice president for business affairs Victor Zafra, and Troy Crowder, special assistant to the ASU president. A second generation native Arizonan, Morrell had been employed at ASU since his graduation from the chool in 1941, with the exception of time spent in the service in World War II and the Korean conflict.
