DescriptionInterior photographic view photo of First Christian Church, 2720 S. Dorsey Lane, Tempe, 85282.
Per Dick George's catalogue notes:

"Date of Construction: Present Location 1969; First location at Forest and University, 1894"

"Lester LeMay told me that music is an important part of Sunday services. Accordingly, note absence of altar, communion table, communion rail, and pulpit. Note instead music stands, microphone stands, electronic drums, and power cords for electronic keyboards. Six massive speaker systems hang from ceiling out of view in photo. Cross in rear center hangs above immersion baptismal pool. White triangle above pool is PowerPoint projections screen on which lyrics for hymns and songs are projected. Hymnals are going extinct.

Music stand to far right is for preacher: it is equipped with a digital kitchen timer set to 20 minutes - preacher and entire congregation know when he/she has used up time allotment. "
