"Date of Construction: Present church, 1953; previous mission unknown
The earliest construction of the present Santa Margarita, as it is known locally, was completed in 1953 and has been remodeled many times. Prior to 1953 an adobe mission existed for some time but the current church staff knew little about it when I visited."
