DescriptionThere are a few documents in this file. The first is a typed summary of the Par 3 study in retrospect, and an acknowledgement of both Ernie Nickels' and Robert Hershberger's contributions toward the creation of Old Town Tempe Mill Avenue which granted them the Environmental Excellence Award. Also in the summary is a list of the architects who refurbished all the historical buildings on Mill Avenue. There is also a newspaper article on former mayor of Tempe, Harry Mitchell, who, in the article, was "credited with championing a downtown redevelopment plan that has made Tempe the envy of its Valley Competitors." There are hand written words across his face that say, "Mitchel (Tempe Only)". Not sure if this article was kept in support or for spite because there was no mention of Nickels in the article. The last piece in the file is a pamplet created at an unknown date that list and describe the historically significant buildings that exist on Mill Avenue.
