Caption from the Tempe 150th Anniversary exhibit:
Adolpho Romo’s lawsuit helped open the doors of the 10th Street School to students of Mexican ancestry. Romo’s children, Irene and Alice – second and fifth from left, front row – are seen with their 1st Grade class in the 1930s.
