DescriptionCookiez Ice Cream Sandwichez was a family-owned ice cream sandwich shop located at 514 S Mill Avenue. It often competed with Slickables when it came to selling ice cream sandwiches and other desserts, and according to one online article from the Phoenix New Times highlighting their business battle, Cookiez was termed "the old guard" of Mill Avenue ice cream while Slicakbles was the new and fast rising kid on the block that seemed to overtake Cookiez. Despite the rise of Slickables, Cookiez still had delicious and go-to ice cream products along with a loyal fanbase. However, the shop abruptly closed in 2012, and the exact reason is unknown, but it most likely had to do with the owner's health and ability to run the shop. Now Cookiez is fondly missed by many of its old customers.
