Came to Tempe, c1907
Served in the U.S. Army during the Civil War.
Enlisted in the New York Regiment commanded by James R. Wood at the outbreak of the Civil War, and took part in several of the biggest battles of the Civil War, including Gettysburg, Chancellorsville, and Sherman's march to the sea; took part in the grand review in Washington in the spring of 1865; was mustered out at Rochester, New York, in April of 1865.
In 1880 he went to San Francisco, California, and spent nearly 30 years living there and in Nevada before moving to Tempe, c1907.
Lived on lot 4 of the Hermosa Tract, a 20-acre lot where he raised milk cows and pigs.
Owned 19.5 acres in section 33, in 1924.In 1929 lived at 1144 McAllister Ave
