He was co-chair of the Tempe Bicentennial celebration in 1976. President of the Tempe Chamber of Commerce (1960-1961). Member of American Legion, Tempe Chamber of Commerce, Tempe South Rotary, Masonic lodge, Elks lodge, Tempe Diablos, and Tempe Historical Society.
