BiographyFarmer.
Arrived in Tempe in 1896.
He came to Tempe as a young man from Hume, Missouri. After about a year of working at J. W. Woolf's farm, he decided to work as an apprentice in a drug store owned and operated by Dr. Hudson. He apparently also worked at Laird and Dines Drugstore. After his marriage, he farmed on the old Gregg homestead, one and a half miles southwest of Tempe, and eventually established a farm south of Broadway Road, where United Dairymen's plant is now located (at Broadway and Hardy). He owned land near Tempe in 1900. He was a shareholder in the Tempe Irrigating Canal Co., 1923.
He farmed until 1917, when he sold the ranch and moved to 108 West Eighth Street.
He owned E2 NW4 section 28 (80 acres), 1924.
Lived on Creamery Road (E. 8th Street), c1913. In 1921 was a memebr of the Tempe School District 3, lived at RD 1. In 1929 lived at Rt 1 Box 3. See also: Adams, E.C. #9723
