BiographyMoved to Litchfield Park, Arizona, with his mother when he was 11 years old. Picked cotton as a child to help support his family. About 1922, moved to Phoenix, Arizona, dropped out of school to work to support his family, doing jobs ranging from selling newspapers to construction laborer. Joined the WPA in the 1930s and worked on construction projects at Arizona State Teachers College. Worked odd jobs around Tempe doing plumbing and electrical repair. Became a custodian for Tempe School District #3. He started working at Rural School in 1939. In 1945, he started working at the Eighth Street School. He worked at Ritter School, 1951-1971, and at Carminati and Arredondo Schools, 1971-1973. In 1975, Tempe School District No. 3 named a new school for Juan M. and Concepcion C. Aguilar. In 1931 lived at 308 E 7th.
