BiographySaddlemaker and harness shop owner.
Moved from Phoenix to Tempe in 1893.
Prominent early Tempe businessman. He built the Andre Building, a large commercial structure, on the southwest corner of Mill and 4th Street, 1888-1889; He opened a saddlery and harness shop in the Andre Building, c1893. By 1899, he was a partner with M. Mertz in Andre and Mertz, harnesses, saddlery, and vehicles. The Andre Building burned in 1899, and he built new building on same site in 1899-1900. He operated his business in several locations until c1902.
Came to the United States in 1862; had become a naturalized citizen by 1900.
