DescriptionSkaters love spillway by 48th Street. Caption on back reads: HOT WHEELS. A natural skate park, the spillway next to 48th Street is a favorite spot for skaters. Kevin Brown (closest to camera) cuts a corner as his street surfing buddies follow. One of the boy's father spotted the location and brought them out for the afternoon of free wheeling.This was a popular skate spot known to local skateboarders as Hohokam Banks. It was located at the Northwest corner of University Drive and 48th Street in Tempe. There is JFA grafitti visible in the photograph. The local skate punk band JFA was known to skate at this spot.
