DescriptionThis color postcard shows 20 or more businesses looking north on Mill Street with A Mountain, the Mill building at the end, and 9 parked vehicles and 5 more on the street. There are 4 pedestrians. Foreground of picture shows Roberson and Son Real Estate and Insurance; also visible are the theatre, Millers, Daily News, and Western Union. Hayden Butte with "A" on it is visible behind buildings at right.The back side has a pink cancelled 6-cent airmail stamp with an airplane figure. The postal cancellation reads, "Dec Tempe Ari 5:30pm." The postcard address and note plus description and distribution information are there.
The back of the postcard is addressed to Buckingham in Bridgeport, Conn.
Printed info notes that Tempe is"nine miles east of Phoenix." Mentions Arizona State College and Desert Botanical Garden in Papago Park.
