Due to rain Friday night, paramedics had to treat this accident victim under a makeshift tent using a tarpaulin. Later the woman was taken to an office building near the accident site in the 600 block of West Broadway road. The delay in transporting Deborah Townsend to Desert Samaritan Hospital was due to an ambulance-car mishap about a half block away.
Rescuers Wreck -
Ambulances are usually part of traffic accident scenes but Friday night one became a casualty while responding to a collision near Roosevelt and Broadway. No one was hurt in the ambulance mishap but the dented wheel prevented the Mesa Ambulance Service van from answering its call. (See above Wet Help article)
