DescriptionBoy Scouts learn to tie slip-knots and other practical knots in their camp sessions, but Girl Scouts participating in this week's Tempe Tumbleweed Neighborhood Day at Tempe Beach opted for a more creative type of knot-tying. Here Curry school third grader Beth Smith, a member of Sleeping Beauty Brownies Troop, shows off her work in macramé, a craft which utilizes various types of knots to make decorative objects. Macramé was one of many crafts being learned and enjoyed by the Girl Scout Day Campers. Article dated June 10, 1977The film negative of this photograph is housed in box 2G7-C.
