DescriptionFrom a photograph caption appearing in Tempe Daily News March 7, 1978:A Bad Day All Over - If nerves of Tempe's Policemen and Firemen were a bit jangled yesterday, nobody could blame them. Traffic in the city Monday appeared to be worse than at the peak of rain and flooding problems late last week - and the bumper to bumper mishaps in the city Monday up until 7:30 p.m. - six of them on Mill avenue and most rear-end collisions from too-close "tailgating." Above policeman fills out a report as fireman checks out passengers in a two-car plus bicycle accident at University and Farmer during the Monday morning rush. No one was apparently seriously injured in this, or most of the other fender-benders keeping policemen and firemen hopping.
