DescriptionA check for $1,500, representing funds raised by the owner and employees of The Monastery in Phoenix and presented Tuesday to Arizona State University, will established a memorial scholarship in memory of Barbara Jean Wegener, recent ASU graduate and a Tempe resident who was fatally injured while on a midnight bicycle ride here on June 18. Gene Ryan (2nd from left), Monastery owner, presented the check this week to Miss Wegener's mother, Mrs. Hazel Wegener, an ASU employee; Carl Miller (left), ASU Director of Development; and Frank Belting (right), director of scholarship funds at the university.The film negative of this photograph is housed in box 2G8-C.
