DescriptionTaken from TDN caption for 2001.19.3481:
Members of Tempe Explorer Scout Post 471, sponsored by the Seventh Ward of the LDS Church, got a sneak preview of how the step-up platform they made for the nursery viewing area at Desert Samaritan Hospital, Mesa, will work when Nurse Debbie Coch left them be the first to view a newborn from the platform. Actually the Explorers had smaller "viewers" in mind -- the platform with railing was made to make it easier for little brothers and sisters of new babies to see the infants through the viewing room windows. Explorers (l to r) Aaron Huish, McClintock High; Stan Sandstrom, Mesa Community College; Bryan Bott and Morgan Brodt, also both of McClintock High were privileged to become among the first to see -- from their viewing platform -- little Shane Urry, whose parents are Lynn and Judy Urry of Tempe.
