DescriptionFrom a photo caption appearing in Tempe Daily News, Wednesday, August 30, 1978:More Work On Rural - The City of Tempe is completing construction of the Rural Road Storm Drain. However, public works officials say Rural will not be void of construction work until next year. About $663,000 has been allocated for the widening of Rural road from Broadway to University. The street will be widened to hold the volume expected on a major arterial street. Pictured above a crew completing work near the corner of Spence and Rural Road. The $17,000 Rural road storm drain will extend from the Salt River bottom to Vista Del Cerro.
