DescriptionFrom a photo caption appearing on Page A13 in the 'Applause' section of the Saturday, April 27, 1985 issue of Tempe Daily News:Working overtime - Tempe Mayor and Mrs. Harry Mitchell, center, joined Tempe Diablo President and Mrs. Craig Ankeney, left, to welcome guests including Don Kirkman, right, to the Diablo's recent annual Casino Capers. There was a lot of shaking hands to do. More than 1,000 people attended the event, highlighted by an auction of big ticket items. The Capers help pay for the $20,000 in scholarships Diablos are presenting this year to graduating high school students.
