DescriptionFrom a photo caption on Page B2 'Applause' section of Tempe Daily News, Wednesday, September 11, 1985:Shoveling off - Carol Vernon, of Kissmett Enterprises, puts a powerful swing into slinging a shovelful of dirt during groundbreaking at Kissmett's Southwind Plaza shopping center development under construction on the southwest corner of Rural and Elliot roads. Trying to stay out of the way are, from left, Ike Thrash of Kissmett Enterprises and Ike Thrash Investments, Inc.; Mayor Harry Mitchell and Tempe Chamber of Commerce President Gary Richardson. The entertainment oriented center will be one of the most upscale centers in the Valley said Thrash.
