United effort - Snipping the ribbon to officially open Tempe United Way's 1986 campaign headquarters in the basement of First Federal Savings at 1005 E. Broadway Road are, from left: United Way board president Jan Bevington, a First Federal employee; campaign chairman Barbee Cromack; Chris Hinz, community development specialist for Tempe Center for the Handicapped, one of 37 agencies which benefit from the campaign; Jack Milligan of ITT Courier, assistant campaign chairman. This is the first year that the United Way campaign has had a headquarters of its own.
