DescriptionThis photograph shows the temporary Phoenix & Eastern Railroad trestle bridge (aka Santa Fe Bridge) with the older Maricopa & Phoenix Railroad bridge (built 1891) behind it. The picture faces northwest, with mountains at the right. The river is at flood stage but not flooding yet. This temporary wooden trestle structure was replaced by a permanent steel span bridge in January 1904.
