E. P. Carr, Sr. was born in Lancaster, N.H. on November 1, 1878 and died April 10, 1950. He served in the Spanish American War, spent 4 years in the Navy Hospital, and served at the Commander T. Roosevelt Camp # 11. His mother, Bridget McCaffery was born in Canada and his father, John Carr was born in Canada. He founded the Carr Mortuary in 1905 and was identified for many years with the Tempe Hardware store. He married his wife, Margaret Ward in Vallejo, CA in 1906.
