Just visible behind the pickup truck at the left edge of this photo is the historic Rohrig School House. It was a private residence at the time this photo was taken. Constructed in 1899, the building closed as a school around 1941. The old school's address is 2306 East University Drive. The historic school house was demolished in 1996 in anticipation of commercial development at the Price Road exit of the 101 Freeway. That development never happened and the land remains vacant (as of 2019).
