DescriptionLife preserver from the Sail Inn Bar in Tempe, located along Farmer Ave. The preserver has green palm trees painted on the side, and in blue, "Sail Inn".Sail Inn Bar was a music venue and dive bar, opened by Gina Lombardi in 1990. The venue hosted thousands of shows by local and touring bands, including The Noodles, The Gin Blossoms, The Sugar Thieves, Black Carl, Dry River Yacht Club, Banana Gun, Japhy's Descent, Future Loves Past, Jared & The Mill and Spaffords. In 2006, Lombardi sold to a local investor who remodeled the bar into a nightclub called, Trax. When the nightclub failed, Lombardi leased it out and brough Sail Inn back in 2009. She then continued to run the bar until it's closing in 2014.
