Description1990 Guiness Book of Records with Tempe Beach Park World Map made by the McClintock Map Makers. Located on page 133, they won for their painted map that was 94' x 88'.Text reads, "A painted world map (mercator projection) drawn by 38 students of McClintock High School, Tempe, Ariz on 2 tennis courts in Nov 1988 measured 94 X 88 ft (8,272 sq ft) and is the largest outdoor map known. For the oceans alone, 23 gallons of paint were used."
